The Detroit high mount exhaust manifold replaces OEM # 23519348  & OEM # 23511978. It primarily fits Peterbilt and Kenworth models with either a 12.7L or 14.0L Detroit Series 60 engine with no EGR system. It increases fuel mileage by 0.2-0.3 miles per gallon and allows for a 28-32 horsepower increase. The ceramic coating improves air velocity and reduces heat. The exhaust manifold is made from a specially formulated virgin alloy which gives it superior strength compared to the competition and factory manifolds which are molded from recycled metals overseas. It retains better elasticity than factory manifolds to withstand constant expansion and contraction. For the joints, the male is on the end piece and the female is on the center section. Joints are a reverse of OEM, resulting in a better air flow. The joints of the manifold were designed as a press fit with tight tolerances, which allows for a 50% increase in surface contact. The exhaust flange and center divider are thicker for better strength and endurance. It is constructed of high molybdenum-steel metal. The exhaust manifold will not crack or leak. It is designed to reduce turbo lag and is sold individually. Turbo studs are included. It lowers manifold temperatures by 300°F and reduces EGT's by 80-100°F.
